In 2009, Padraig Tarrant exhibited his piece ‘Castrobama’ at the 10th Havana Biennial. The piece represents the political significance between the two countries, just as the shared ‘O’ between Castro and Obama represents a desire for connection and shared intentions. Cut from wood and painted scarlet red, the facing profiles of the powerful leaders stand at 8 feet.
